PROMOTIONAL COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. These Terms
1.1. These Promotional Competition Terms & Conditions (which include the Promotional Competition Details) set out the basis for participating in the Promotional Competition identified below.
1.2. By entering or participating in the Promotional Competition, you agree to these Promotional Competition Terms & Conditions.
1.3. A Privacy Notice attached to or otherwise provided in connection with these Promotional Competition Terms & Conditions should be regarded as part of these Terms & Conditions.
2. Promotional Competition Details
The promoter of this competition is Unilever South Africa (Pty) Limited, whose registered/primary address is 15 Nollsworth Crescent, Nollsworth Park, La Lucia Ridge Office Estate, La Lucia, 4051.

The Promotional Competition is titled “Raise The Bar Schools edition,” in which entrants will have the chance to showcase their creativity and win prizes.
Entrants stand a chance to win your share of R1 350 000 in cash prizes.
Breakdown:
1 of 10 R135 000 cash prizes to be awarded (R100 000 for the school and R35 000 for the entrants)
Entrant Requirements
Open to registered Primary and Secondary schools and learners within the Republic of South Africa, only.
Entries must be submitted by a registered teacher on behalf of pupils enrolled at the school. Teachers must obtain informed consent from a parent or legal guardian for each participating pupil before submitting any entry.
Consent must cover:
Participation in the competition.
Use of the pupil’s image, voice, and performance in photos/videos posted on social media and other promotional platforms.
Upon accepting the Ts and CS, teachers confirm they have secured valid consent and indemnify the organiser against any claims arising from missing or invalid permissions.
Teachers/Parents of the entrants must purchase TWO if ANY Sunlight Green Bar. Their valid till slip must be uploaded via the dedicated WhatsApp line provided. Entries will be reviewed at the end of the competition and only videos matched with a valid proof of purchase will be eligible the grand prizes.
Entry Instructions
To enter, participants must:
Step 1: Purchase & Register
Teachers/Parents/Guardians of the learners must purchase TWO if ANY Sunlight Laundry Green Bar.
Keep the till slip as proof of purchase.
Register via the dedicated WhatsApp line found in the Instagram bio (@sunlight.za).
Step 2: Create & Post Your Entry
Choose one of the two categories:
Rap Category
Create a 30"- 60" hip-hop rap video
Use the Sunlight green bar as a mic.
Use the Sunlight campaign hip-hop rap beat (available on Instagram).
Upload your video on Instagram and/or Tik Tok
Use the hashtag #RaiseTheBarWithSunlight.
Tag the brand pages in your post. Instagram (@sunlight.za) and Tik Tok (@sunlight_za)
Dance Category
Create a 30"- 60" amapiano dance video
Feature the Sunlight green bar visibly in the video.
Use the Sunlight campaign amapiano dance beat (available on Instagram).
Upload your video on Instagram and/or Tik Tok
Use the hashtag #RaiseTheBarWithSunlight.
Tag the brand pages in your post. Instagram (@sunlight.za) and Tik Tok (@sunlight_za)
Excluded Entrants
The following individuals and their children/pupils may not enter:
1. Agents, distributors, and other organizations commercially connected to the Promoter.
2. Employees and directors of the Promoter (including their families and cohabitants).
3. Shareholders in the Promoter.
Judging Criteria
The top 10 amapiano dance videos and the top 10 hip-hop rap videos will be shortlisted based on the below judging criteria, for review by the Sunlight team.
From the 20 shortlisted, the Top 10 will be awarded with the cash prizes.
From the Top 9, 1 top entry (either Rap or Dance) will be awarded with a special Sunlight activation at their school.
Shortlisted entries will be reviewed by the Sunlight team based on:
Creativity
Originality of concept and performance.
Unique interpretation of the “Raise The Bar” theme.
Use of Sunlight Bar
Clear and creative integration of the Sunlight green bar in the performance.
Execution
Overall quality of the video (energy, clarity, engagement).
Alignment with the campaign beat hip-hop (rap) or amapiano (dance).
Opening/Closing Dates – 2nd February to 30th March 2026
Notification of Winners and Claiming Prizes
Winning schools will be contacted via the mobile number and email address provided in their WhatsApp registration. Cash prizes will be paid via EFT. Winning schools must provide
1. Proof of Banking Details
Official bank confirmation letter or stamped bank statement (must show school name and account number).
2. School Identification
School registration certificate or official letterhead confirming the school’s legal name.
3. Tax Information
VAT number or tax clearance certificate (if applicable).
4. Authorised Signatory
Letter from the school confirming the person authorised to receive funds and sign documents.
5. Invoice or Prize Acceptance Form
Signed declaration acknowledging receipt of prize money and agreeing to terms.
3. Promotional Competition Basis
3.1. The competition is open to individuals who meet the entrant requirements and not open to excluded entrants.
3.2. You must follow the entry instructions.
3.3. There is no limit to the number of entries a participant may submit. Each entry must be wholly original and must be supported by the purchase of an additional qualifying product for every entry submitted.
3.4. Only one prize may be won per group of entrants unless multiple prizes are explicitly allowed.
4. Entries
4.1. Entries that do not comply, are incomplete, corrupted, or late may be disqualified. 4.2. Entry material must:
Be appropriate for public viewing and not contain prohibited content
Not promote non-Unilever brands (unless incidental and necessary)
Be your own work or used with permission
Include names or likenesses only with written consent
4.3. By submitting an entry, you grant the Promoter a perpetual, royalty-free, global licence to use, distribute, and adapt the entry. You must not grant these rights to anyone else.
5. Responsibility for Entries
5.1. If submitting on behalf of others, you must have their permission.
5.2. You must comply with all rules and not tamper with the competition.
5.3. You indemnify the Promoter against losses or liabilities from your breach of these terms.
5.4. You indemnify the Promoter against third-party claims resulting from your entry.
5.5. The Promoter is not responsible for:
Lost or delayed entries due to network issues
Your costs related to entering
5.6. It is your responsibility to ensure entries are submitted on time.
5.7. The Promoter is not responsible for unreceived entries, regardless of the reason.
5.8. The Promoter is not liable for technical issues affecting entries.
6. Winners
6.1. Winners will be notified using the specified method and within the given time frame.
6.2. Prizes must be claimed within the specified timeframe, or they will be forfeited. A substitute winner will then be selected.
6.3. The Promoter may publish winner names and county.
6.4. The Promoter's decision is final in all competition matters.
6.5. No correspondence will be entered into unless initiated by the Promoter.
7. Prizes
7.1. Winners must submit a completed vendor form, ID, and bank letter to claim their prize.
7.2. Prizes are awarded "as is" with no guarantees beyond statutory warranties.
7.3. Winners are responsible for:
Visas, permits
Fuel or consumables
Upkeep or renewals
Taxes and liabilities
Physical readiness or capability
Any other associated responsibilities
7.4. Winners must adhere to any third-party terms associated with the prize.
7.5. The Promoter may substitute prizes for alternatives of equal or higher value.
7.6. If a winner is disqualified, the prize must be returned or compensated.
8. Publicity
8.1. Winners agree to participate in reasonable publicity. This includes being filmed, photographed, or interviewed. The Promoter is granted a licence to use such materials.
9. Miscellaneous
9.1. Unless stated, the competition is not sponsored by any third party.
9.2. In case of translations, the English version of these terms will prevail.
9.3. If any part of these terms is deemed invalid, the rest remain enforceable.
10. Governing Law and Disputes
10.1. The competition is governed by the laws of South Africa (the country of the Promoter’s address).
10.2. Disputes will be resolved in South African courts unless another jurisdiction applies due to the nature or location of the entrant, prize, or competition.
