A. No, all products will have some environmental impact. All our products are developed to have minimal environmental impact and this innovation helps to lessen the impact of our products on the environment.
When comparing hand versus machine washing, you may be surprised to learn that the environmental balance is in favor of the machine: UK study showed 49 l of water and 1.7 kWh of energy for Hand wash, whereas the dishwasher used 13 l of water and 1.3 kWh of energy on average (publication Stamminger, International Journal of Consumer Studies 34 (2010) 235–242).
Q. Are the ingredients in the new SUNLIGHT tablets biodegradable?

Q. I have noticed that Sunlight tablets do not dissolve properly and leave some residue in my dishwasher dispenser. Is there something wrong with the Sunlight tablets?
A. I am sorry to hear you are having problems with residues. Sunlight tablets with HYDROFLIMTM wrapper rapidly dissolve and will only leave residues under very specific conditions. Extensive laboratory testing has shown that ‘tablet residues’ can occur when the spray-arm of the dishwasher is not working properly, caused by ‘over-loading’ the dishwasher. Occasionally, cutlery or other dishes can obstruct the rotation movement of the spray-arm resulting in poor tablet dissolution. This will happen with any dishwash product and is not specific for Sunlight tablets. Care should be taken not to overload the dishwasher or to obstruct the spray arm.
If residues are a problem we recommend that the dispenser is wiped clean with a cloth ; the upper and lower spray arms are checked to see if they can rotate freely (if not remove obstruction/blockage), also that the spray holes are clear as they can become blocked with small food particles such as grains of rice and that the dishwasher has not been overloaded as per manufacturers recommendations. The wash cycle can then be repeated using another tablet.
Please follow the appropriate dosing instructions for your cycle: for Normal or intensive cycles to tablet should be put into the dispenser, for short cycles place the tablet directly into the body of the machine or in the cutlery basket
